    Did something stupid, have a question

    Went to switch hitches on my wife's truck. Lock was tight and key broke off in the lock. Now need to figure out how to get the hitch lock off.....anyone have any ideas?

    prolly would help to know what kind of "hitch lock" you have..

    Cut the lock? Strong shop vac with small tip and tap on the lock with a hammer and see if you can get it out then try a spare key?

    Can you see the end of the broken key in the lock?. Did you try tweezers. If pulling it out is a no go, then grinder with 4" cutting wheel.

    wd40, then see if you can turn the cylinder since the key is in it. Cut a slot across the cylinder with a dremel that a flat head screw driver will fit to turn it.

    If it is a lock that goes through the receiver I have cut those locks a sawzall.

    Find a hack on u tube for that kind of lock. Someone always locates the weak points. Otherwise a grinder or cutting wheel.
