    Troubleshoot V150TLRB trim guage

The trim guage on my 2003 Stratos with V150TLRB has not worked since I got the boat last year. Figured it was the guage so bought a new one. Wrong
Top post purple wire, middle post 2 blacks, bottom post white wire
Help me to troubleshoot the trim wiring. Where do I start?

It’s probably a broken plastic tab that rides the trim sensor. $7 fix.

The newer model is metal. I hope you bought that one.

When you install it, trim the motor down completely and turn the new piece until your gauge reads fully down. Tighten screw at that time

Not yet. Clamp came today, so install tomorrow. I did test the arm that sends the signal to the guage, all good there.

Ok Mike, you shamed me to get with the program . Clamp installed and I ran new tubing for my new pressure guage + 1 pull line for the new dash depth finder.
    Thanks for the motivation

When Trim sender arm is pushed up and down the needle on the gauge goes up and down , when the motor is on land . My problem with the needle not moving is when the motor is in the water and the engine running. Also it doesn't do it all of the time and sometimes when the needle doesn't move and it sits all of a sudden the needle moves. Very depressing because I don't no if they are going to find the problem. The boat is in the shop now but I'M not hoping for the best. I wonder if YAMAHA could solve this weird problem? Trim sender arm seems to be fine!

What's the chances the trim sender is bad?
