    Pro speed questions

I have a 27 trophy that runs 73 mph at 5400 rpm. If I drop to a 25 trophy what should it run at 5800? 1.75 gear on pro xs

Assuming the same slip(7%), 73 MPH.

While it appears you will not gain top speed, you will gain hole shot and mid range punch. Probably better for your engine as well.

    6000 rpm's with a 25 at 7% slip would give you 75 mph.. 6200 would give you 78.

Get rid of the four blade and get a tempest 26" or 27". What jack plate do you have on it now hopefully at least an 8" and the prop to pad setting at 2.5" under. You also have 11% slip now not 7%.

Put a 10” zlock jack plate on it and boy does it ride and handle better. One handed wide open but I have had and loved 4 bullets. No trouble with chine walk.

I don’t understand why I need to loose the 4 blade. Love how they handle. What advantages with the three blade?

Three blade may be more efficient, I wouldn't worry about one person's thought there. But you definitely want to come down in pitch so your at redline or close, this will give you better holeshot and midrange while maintaining your top end.

Try a 26 fury 3 blade! You will get better hole shot and better top end with more rpm.

One thing none of you figured is that motor won't get 7% slip numbers it has a Gen 1 TM lower not a Gen 2 so it gets 9 at best. The reason for the three blade is more rpm's which will give you more speed. A 25 tempest on that boat will run faster than a 25 Trophy. On my boat the four blades are faster because it carries the hull higher. I get 78 on my boat and motor with a 27 trophy and only turn 5750 rpm's. You must have a weak motor or something since that boat is only rated at 200 so a 225 pro xs should really make it fly.

    I'm getting 7% on a 06 225 proxs. 76mph @ 5800 with a 26p Tempest+, 07 tr20xhp.

7% slip and you would be running 79 MPH.
