Was wondering how you folks using a Antares A are happy with it and if weight is a issue .

OMG. This is without a doubt the best casting reel I’ve ever thrown. I say this in the context of being a very avid consumer of enthusiast tackle. I currently use it as my jerk bait reel and not only is it an effortless distance caster it has amazing cast control abilities in all conditions. I know on paper that it weighs in a little heavy however it palms so superbly that I do not notice it. Not a pure apples to apples comparison but I enjoy fishing with that real over the current generation Metaniums and Aldebaran‘s. It certainly feels like Shimano’s best reel. Is it worth the ridiculous price tag? That’s up to you entirely. But it is a unique experience in a casting reel.

If I get one it will be from Digitaka, way cheaper and bought reels from them before, legit and fast shipping. Just am concerned as it is not light but ever so pretty, lol.
