I haven't done a cost benefit analysis or anything but if you have some 14 -16 gauge wire laying around - maybe after one of your boat wiring projects - this is easy to do and works great

Back in the 80's... All I used was screen spline cut into discs like the wire insulation.

I used to use punch outs from a coffee cup lids but they are tough to get on and slips can really smart! But then, blood makes a good fish attractant... so there's that
