Any way to fix gouged/shaved aluminum?

My wife came in to the dock after launching at about 143 mph today. This particular dock, if you can call It that, is old concrete and steel.
She hit hard on the far back right rub rail area. There’s about a 8” area of aluminum on the rail that’s cosmetically damaged.
    Trust me. I wasn’t happy.

Anything that can be done about this?

Me too, there was a rouge bolt sticking out from dock that caught the my gunwale, put a pretty good gouge in it.

It could be welded in ground down and then body worked and re painted or just cleaned up filled with duraglass and then a skim coat to smooth it out and repaint

Can you post a picture? Maybe grind it down, fill with duraglass. Paint seal it then have some wrap put over it. Or insurance claim and have it mint again.

Can you wrap an aluminum boat?

After looking at that, I would make an insurance claim. Haven't had to make one in 30 years so they owe me. You could try to make it look a little better for now and remove the hanging chips and brush in the blue paint then clear it. If you call Vexus and tell them you need some touch up paint they will send it to you. When I got mine it would be plenty to do an area that size. It won't look nearly as bad as it does now and the bummer factor will decrease. Then decide on how to go about a permanent fix. You don't want a bad memory attached to your boat every time you look at it......and you won't be able to stop looking at it. Good Luck!

Cbump, don't tell your insurance agent she was driving at 143 mph!
