    Could use a little knowledge.

I just tried a 23p scorpion on my z9 with 250proxs 2 stroke. I turned it 5400 at 65mph. May have had another mph or 2 left but ran out of room. I'm 3.5" ptp and had 22-23 psi. Please educate me on what I could expect when raising the jackplate? Will I gain more rpms and in turn more speed? I loved the lift this prop achieved. Thanks for any input. Also if I went down in pitch to raise rpms would that in turn give more top end?

Keep raising the motor until you loose safe water pressure, speed or bow lift and lower back down a little.

Thanks Mike. Do you think raising will bring rpms up too?

Typically yes but raising RPM’s isn’t good after a certain point if it’s through prop slip. If you can watch water pressure, rpms, and speed you can see the point where you’re maintaining water pressure (most important), getting peak rpms, but not loosing speed. At some point the prop looses clean water and starts to slip allowing rpms to climb but not actually creating as much push.

Some. Maybe not enough. Only one way to find out.
