    Favorite Drop Shot Baits

Good Day - What is everyones favorite drop shot baits/setup? Im currently running 6lb fluro, vmc hooks, and 4 inch robos. I get a lot of hits, but small fish.

I mostly dropshot weedlines. Strike King dream shot t rigged on a Gamakatsu G Finesse Heavy Cover. 20lb braid to 8lb fluro.

If im in open water or bed fishing I use a Gama splitshit hook with the same. Sometimes I will switch to a Strike King Half Shell or a small swimbait.

I also fish it similar to a C rig but much slower with long pauses.

When I get the little nippers after my smaller worms, I upsize the plastic. I used to use Trick Worms a lot but found the tails don't float consistently and as a result, I end up over-working the bait to keep it horizontal. Switched to either Netbait T-Mac worms or GB Airtail Wigglers. Both 6.5 inch worms that float every time, much better ~

Nothing wrong with your setup. You got a great basic dropout deal that I use and have not changed since dropshotting came around. If your getting small fish it may be your location. I usually have 2 or 3 identical dropshot rods ready to go, one always has a go by type bait( poor boys, slammer). They seem to get fewer bits but larger fish at times.
I actually sold about 80% of my dropshot baits this past winter. I got a box of slammers, meatheads, and poor boy gobies. If they don't catch fish then I'll start dragging a tube.

Depends a lot on whether it's smallmouth or largemouth for me. As others have kind of mentioned, you can never go wrong with a Roboworm! The 6" or 7" variety usually gets the call for largemouth, while the 4.5" goes for smallmouth.

Anybody ever had luck drop shotting a creature or beaver style bait? I've tried it several times on weedlines for largemouth and never had any real luck with it. I've often thought it'd be the deal with basically 98% of our fish's diet being bluegills and the profile of a creature or beaver being a lot closer to a bluegill than a worm, but apparently the fish I've shown it to do not agree.

Typically I'm fishing for smallmouth and use a Z-Man Trick Shotz or a Z-Man Finesse Wormz.

really any soft plastic in the 3 to 4 inch range, sometimes they want more wiggle and sometimes they don't
