    Ultrex Prop

Broke the blade on my Ultrex prop and need a new one. I have a 112# thrust. It looks like I need an MKP-38 but didn’t know if anyone else had any experience. Is there any other blade from other companies that will work?

Put a Kipawa Prop on my 80lb Ultrex and IMO it is a far and away better prop. Smoother operation and picked up from 3.0 to 3.6 mph top speed.

If you do anything but the minnkota don't show or tell them as it's not approved to do so. I went from 2.9mph to 3.5mph with lithium's on the stock prop.

I keep a spare in the boat at all times. They break fairly easy

Be careful with the Kipawa...I burned out two trolling motors in short order using one. Just trying to save you some headache and cash.

I had a Kipawa and really did not notice any difference. Still have it as a spare.

Kipawa is no comparison to the factory prop. I can get more out of my 112 ultrex on 3 with a kipawa than I could with the factory prop on 5.

What about the Kipawa caused your motors to fail?

This is the hub from my Ultrex prop after hitting one too many submerged stumps/laydowns. The shear pin looks perfectly fine but the $40 prop is toast. It still worked but I took a look after it began making an oscillating noise.

I bought a Kipawa also and haven't noticed any difference. But I have heard they mainly shine in grass, and I've yet to get into any thick vegetation with it.

I swap back and forth between the Kipawa and wedge. Kipawa’s blades are not as durable when around a lot of stumps and stuff and definitely not weedless. But I absolutely LOVE the Kipawa in open water situations, deep points, flats, etc. Spotlock loves the Kipawa. Motor doesn’t work as hard to stay put. That’s my experience anyway. Different jobs different tools.
