I have Garmin graphs, so I'd consider the Garmin just because it would interface. But I'd have no problem with the Ultrex either.

I have a Lowrance Ghost and I am very satisfied with it (Lowrance graphs). Most posters with Ultrex and Garmin Force are satisfied with theirs also. Bottom line, whichever brand one wants.

A few weeks ago it would have been the Ultrex.
Garmin has been listening and working with great customer service. My Garmin TM is the bees knees now.

I really don't see any point in linking the trolling motor to the graphs. It's just another connection and thing to fail in the chain. I would still go ultrex but lots of people like the ghost and I do like that it lays lower when stowed.

Really enjoy my Ghost. There are benefits to linking your graphs to your TM. Therefore, I would say which ever brand you use pick the TM that links to it.

I wrote to Russell Marine and described my situation and felt I got very good advice from them. (They are a sponsor here.)

You should do some research on the benefits of linking everything together.

I would not by anything for another year if I could put it off, complaints are starting to pop on the new ones and quite sure minkota will release a brushless motor very soon. I love my ultrex but my next one will a brushless motor, just not sure yet which one. Will see which way the wind blows first
    Thank You Leon Pugh

Can't tell you what you want...but I want Lowrance LIVE's and the Ghost and Active Target. Love the setup, features, flexibility, and reliability.
