Shouldn't have an issue with that 24p. How much fuel do you bring with on an outing? If you say full tank and don't burn that in a weekend I'd strongly recommend half tank and less 6.2 pounds a gallon.

for holeshot motor trimmed all the way down, jackplate high near the top, floor the pedal, and as soon as the bow starts coming down push the jackplate down, then start working the trim and jackplate for speed. ( if the prop blows out, stop, start with the jackplate a little lower and as the bow starts coming down lower the jackplate....)

You need to open the vent holes. Not all but I’d start with one open and you may need a partial plug in another

Deff need to open some PVS plugs. Those PVS plugs help on holeshot more than anything.

Thats pretty odd actually, I have a 2012 Z8 with a 250xs and run a 26 Fury and 28 Bravo. I feel like I would blow out a 24 no problem no matter where the jack plate is set.

On holeshot when you floor it the prop should spin to approximately 3800 rpm, if it is only 3500 or lower then you may change some of the pvs plug/hole sizes to get to 3800ish

on my z8 250, 25p tempest plus I have three large hole pvs inserts. This is where I'd start. I missed that in the original post.

The prop should spin to approimately 3800 rpm, what will the tachometer show to correlate to the prop rpms?

Smarty * , the prop should spin and the tachometer should say approximately 3800 rpm.

Gear ratio is 1.75 to 1 on my 250. That's why I asked the question on rpms.

Ok, well the 2strokes make more power up over 3500rpm on the tach, this is needed to get the boat out of the hole. Your four stroke motor makes more torque and this number is not as important to you. But side note the lower units that used to be 1.62/1 still need the same rpm on the tach for making power at the motor. If you want to mess with your set ups, just push one plug out and go for a spin and compare to before

    .

take note of the rpms on the tack after 1 second of full throttle before it's up on plane. This is the time we need to know. Mine will be at 3800 during wide open holeshot but after it's up on plan I can lift and get it to like 2800, the 2800 means nothing.

Did you just get it and you are trying to figure this out, or have you owned it and it’s not what it used to be doing?

    Don't give him your money.

a 25p is going to make it slower out of the hole.

just pop out some of the vent plugs

Renove vent plugs one at a time and test
