Under what conditions was the picture taken (showing 44.?, just shy of 45 psi)?

If that gauge is accurate, you likely have debris in the regulator's final filter (or a pressure regulator problem).

cloudy, temp is 77, humidity 76%, barometric pressure 29.9 on muffs. I should have added that my son swapped the vst the one from the blown power head (1996 mercury/mariner 200 hp). .. Will be tomorrow before I can take it to the lake most likely, gonna try this afternoon.

And yeah I fat fingered it on the idle psi. The blown power head that the vst came from. Is OG129892. He and his friend ran it after that and he said its getting on plane better but after about 2 hours of riding around it didn't want to start.

Doesn't seem to be running as rich as it was before. It would smoke like an old two stroke Detroit diesel one a cold morning before.

Yes... good to clean that filter, BUT the one in question is actually located in the brass flange for the pressure regulator.

Very small round filter that fits into that flange where it seals to the pressure regulator.

There was no filter there. Do I need to put one back in? I took the regulator off of the vst then took the two screws off and separated the brass part.

Filter would be about 3/8" tall and fits into the opening of the brass flange.

Would be redundant on this model VST, IMHO.

ok. Could the not wanting to cramk after running a bit be due to vapor lock? Had to bale hay today wasn't able to take boat to lake but have that plan for this Saturday, swing shift tomorrow and Friday gotta love it not.

Ok ran the boat a bit today after lunch. High 70's low 80's during that time. Ran for about 25 minutes straight. Seamed a little sluggish getting on p,and at first bike broke over and went, 5 to 7 seconds instead of the 4 to 5 seconds. Stopped, shut down and waited about 10 minutes twice then ran boat getting on plane (seemed better compared to initial take off) then road in and out of a few coves coming off plane and idling a bit then taking back off. Went to ramp and shut down and waited about 20 minutes or so then tried to crank it up. Nothing, just spun over without cranking.. fuel pressure was reading at 44 psi (only have same guage sorry) with key on, when we tried to crank it up the psi dropped about 3 psi then climbed back up to 44. Disconnected the gree/white wires from the stator to cdms and the voltage was 172 volts, ohms is 1.29 on the 20k reading. After about 45 minutes it cranked up and ran. I had to stop and leave then.

Oh forgot to add found several screws on the vst to be loose, tightened them up but gonna get a new gasket for it to be safe.

Ran it for a bit with fuel pressure attached (again if the guage is correct knowing my luck its not). Idling out of no wake zone it was reading 55psi. Getting on plane it dropped to about 48psi. On plane and slowing down it dropped to 42psi. Held 42psi for 15, 30 and 60 seconds. While loading the boat on the trailer, pulling away from the ramp about 200 feet then strapping every thing down the guage was reading between 41 and 42psi.

    +1

Restricted final filter in regulator or regulator bad. Solve this OBVIOUS problem FIRST.

Could be 15027. Depends on what engine donated the EFI (Fuel Management) System. Definitely not from 0G724176... but perhaps could be from 0G129892.

Based on the filter pictures- I'm guessing 0G129892, which used Regulator Part# 15027.
