Up or down fury to tempest

Z119 ranger 225 mercury pro xs
12 x21 1:75 lower 4 agm battery's 10 inch set back manual jack plate I think measured from boat to motor . Had a fury 24 and it run well but real flat . Got a tempest 25 vent plugs tuned . Why question up or down with the jack plate . I have gone down 1/2 inch from the fury setting . With trim all the way down in 1 foot chop it want to porpoise at a slow speed but well on plane. It runs the boat really loose on top . It definitely get more lift . I believe I was at about 2.5 prop height with the fury 24. Trim at speed is about the same between the fury and tempest at this point . Next question lower prop take more or less trim ? Thanks

I have found the Fury likes to run deeper than a Tempest Plus at least on my boat.

The tempest runs higher, Not lower than the fury. Because of the bigger diameter.

On a stock unmodified Fury it will need to about 1/2 inch deeper and still not carry a heavy load as well as tempest, such as a Ranger. Tempest will be better on that boat in almost every case, now if you want to spend another 300 on tuning the Fury it is a new ballgame and the Fury will win

Well done some testing 1st start going down twice 1/4 inch and it lifted well but seemed very unstable at higher speeds. So then I went up twice 1\4 inch . to be honest I'm almost back to where the fury was at just a bit higher .

I run a 25 tempest but I have a 25 trophy now and a 24 ot4 turbo. Tempest is the best. I've ran a tempest on all my boats. My boat is a ranger z19 pretty much the same boat
