Takes a great Metallica song and makes it hit just as hard with a blues and bluegrass sound.

This popped up on my Spotify the other night but I haven’t had a chance to listen yet. I will check it out tomorrow.
Umm. No. This is awful. To each his own however. Sad but true is a song that is much better played than listened to.
Best live show I’ve ever been to. Went for Lucero (my favorite band) and Isbell killed it.
One of the best! Heard that the other day, was skeptical at first but he took the song in a totally different direction. Awesome talent
He is a great talent, but taking such a powerful song like that and toning it down did not do it any justice. Metallica did it 100% better.
Yeah I'd pass on that..... pretty terrible actually.
Don’t much care for that
Red Sox in 6!
Maybe if I'd never heard Metallica's version.
Would have been better without the video , I guess .
Yuk

After listening to that, I feel dirty.
I’m going to go in the office and play the riff (with some chunk and distortion) just to get the dirt off me.
Would love to see him live. Had his music for a while now..
Very talented just not my cup of tea.
Jason is an amazing musician, and yes, his presence absolutely lit DBT into the stratosphere - right time right person right place kind of a deal for sure. I saw DBT before, during, and after Jason. I agree that the DBT "during Jason" phase was far and away the best they've ever been. I'm not a fan of his rendition of the Metallica classic, but Poncho and Lefty, he knocked it out. I just wish he'd get his head out of the clouds when it comes to matters about which we do not speak on here, and I told him the same a long time ago before his head was in the clouds...
.
Speaking of Jason Isbell doing cover songs....
