Bravo 4 with or without plugs?

Does anyone run plugs in their Bravo 4? I was under the impression that most leave all 8 holes open. My Bravo is spinning up to 5000-5200 rpm out of the hole. A little less with two guys and livewells. Without livewells and 1 guy it gets out easy and quick. Under tournament conditions it struggles to get on step.

What RPM should I aim for out of the hole?

Since I didn't get much response on this here I ordered an assortment of different side plugs. I also found some info on other forums through the Google machine. Turns out 2 solid plugs are the recipe. Runs pretty good now.
