This may have been addressed before But I have a 2021 Skeeter ZXR21 and it Came with the Transducer mounted on transom. My Question is where is the Best Place for It to be mounted

    1 ON the transom

    2 on the Jack Plate

    Thanks for your response

I just finished moving mine from the transom to the jack plate . The screw holes in the transom worry me so i got some epoxy good for fiberglass applications then I got some gel coat patch to repair the hole it's just my ocd in me I don't like it on the transom I would move it to the Jack Plate. Transducer saver probably has what you need to move it

Most people don't follow Humminbird's advice on Transducer mounting location for the larger SI and DI transducers as it isn't even supposed to be in the water when the boat is on plane (see screen shot from manual). In this case, it really doesn't matter where you mount it. Again, most people do they toount it so that it is still in the water at higher speeds in hopes of getting readings from it (which is hit or miss).

Also, it's always a good idea to mount a transducer mounting block on your transom so you only drill holes to mount it. This allows you to move the transducer around without having to drill additional holes in the transom.

They also have adhesive bonded plates now that require no drilling.
