Would upgrading from load range C to D be ok for a 2015 Nitro Z7

I need tires for a 2015 Nitro Z7 single axle trailer. I currently have Carlisle load range c tires but was considering upgrading to the Goodyear endurance load range D tire. Will bumping up to 65psi from 50 make much of a difference towing?

It's a damn near requirement on a single axel. Do it just make sure the tire is flat when the boat is on it. You can do this by coloring the tire with Chalk and seeing if it wears off evenly or just in the middle. Or sand on a wet tire driving across pavement does the same thing.

What do you mean by “make sure tire is flat when boat is on it” ?

He means to make sure that the entire tread of the tire touches the pavement, not just the middle of the tread. May not be able to run max psi to accomplish this. The idea is to make sure you use all the tread of the tire or else you will just wear out the center treads prematurely.

The tread needs to make full contact with the pavement. Over inflation will wear the center of the tire. By using the above mentioned methods you can achieve the proper inflation pressure.

I did it a long time ago for my Nitro 591 trailer. I bought a set of 15'' aluminum wheels and had the load range D tires installed. One of the best things I've ever done. Single axle trailers should not be sold with little skimpy 14" LRC tires. It sure gives peace of mind when driving at interstate highway speeds. However, I did blow out a Carlisle 15'' LRD on the way to the lake one morning. I had been running 75 and 80, trying to get to the lake before sunrise. So, speed still kills trailer tires. Who knows, I may have cut it on something on the road. I go no faster than 70 now, even with Goodyear Endurance. I pulled it over 700 miles round trip, interstate most of the way, last month without a problem.
    Don't worry Ma'am....

I upgraded to the Goodyear Endurance last summer on my single axle 2012 Z7. I have been inflating them to 60 PSI cold and it tows great.

Thank you all. I’m going to make the switch and try 60psi. Will keeping the tire 5lbs below the max psi cause it to heat up when driving?

Look at the inflation chart for the weight you have. (Yes you need to get it weighed) Inflate to WHAT THE CHART SAYS FOR THE WEIGHT YOU HAVE!! Not what someone thinks you need. Cj

I can just say I blew my last Load Range C Chinese 3 weeks ago. Went to GY Endurance D's, made in USA. 65 psi Up and back to the Michigan U.P. (I married a Yooper) and the peace of mind worth every penny. At 75, I hate changing tires on I-75. Ranger Trail single axle. 361V 1994 150 Black Max Carbuerated

I run 60 psi also, endurance 205 75 15 on my Sabre which is about the same size as the Z7. Flat tread and they run cool.

I had the Endurance put on last year, they ride great. The Goodyear technician said to run them at 60psi for optimum performance on my trailer, also a single axle.

    absolutely!

I've had a 18.5 on load D's for about 5 years. I replace mine every 3.5 years no matter. They pull great.

I have the same size boat (Skeeter TZX190). My trailer has 15” wheels and 225/75-15ST E Goodyear Endurance tires from the factory. The placard on the trailer frame rail requires that the tires are inflated to 80psi cold.
