    Marion in October

How is fishing in the Santee cooper lakes primarily Marion in early October. Taking a trip with the wife and it seems like a good one.

The fishing can be very good! Especially after the first cool snap. A good frog bite that time of year. October is when the lake usually is at it's lowest level and can be hazardous for those that don't know the lake. Lots of stumps and logs. Depends on how much rain we get of course.

Contact Inky Davis, he’s a longtime Santee guide. You can google him, or he’s a member here, you can look him up in this section.

Inky has forgot more about Santee than most people know.

Ive fished Santee since the late 70’s-early 80’s, and I still want to go out with Inky to learn some parts of Marion.

You’re coming from Pa, if you don’t know the water it’s easy to get into trouble quick. He can show you how to get around without ripping your motor off.

Not sure if he’s 100% back yet, he had heart surgery then dealt with Covid. But he’s definitely a legend, and can save you time and money.

Brett Mitchell is a great Santee guide as well and wide open on charters. He also expanded to offer catfish and striper guiding as well now.
