    Texas tournament trails

Can someone please give me a run down of some of the trails available for amateurs in Texas? Pros and cons of each?
I’ve tried googling and see people talk about media bass, bfl, fishers of men, BASS, but the websites seem confusing. Are there points standings?

I’m in a local club now but might in the future do one of these.

Depending on skill-set and budget, you could possibley fish at least one trail tournament every weekend in Texas from January through December.

All the trails you mentioned are well established here. Media, FOM, ABA, BassChamps to name a few.
All of the money circuits have year end points standings.

There are also several local clubs that produce great derby's and also have year end points.

The American Bass Anglers have the Open series, the Top 150 Solo, and the Fishing Tour depending on your area and level. The fishing tour has 3 division in Texas, Wichita Falls, DFW, and Central.

This seems like it may be up my alley. I read a little on the fishing tour this morning. It says it’s draw format. What is that? Are there co-anglers?

Never mind. Don’t think I would like fishing with a stranger all day.

You might draw a nightmare...but then again, you might find a lifelong friend. It’s literally the epitome of luck of the draw

I've fished a lot of them.. Never had a truly bad experience. Like said above I did make some great friends and tried to learn something from everyone of them. Some were darn good fishermen others were just starting out.

Been fishing ABA & BFLS for long time, I have had 3 bad experiences in 15 years of draws, 98% have been good experiences. 2 of those bad ones are good drinking stories that make everyone laugh. So basically I got something from those few experiences.

Reality is your questions is basically one of where you want to fish and then from there what are your options. Define the area or lakes you want to fish. A couple of lakes will keep coming up mainly Sam Rayburn & Toledo Bend.

I live in Weatherford and don’t really want to travel more than two hours or so too frequently.
