    Wayne.....

I want to put a Helix 15 G4 on the bow for Mega 360. I have a Helix G3 at the console. Do I need the black box so these two units can talk to each other? Or is it even possible for a G4 to talk to a G3?

    Thanks,

G4 and G3 are network compatible. If you are only going to have the two units all you need is to run a network cable between them and a couple dongle cables for helix and your set.

If one of the units is a Helix 7 G3, that is not networkable.

    Every generation of Helix 8, 9, 10, 12, and 15 is networkable.

    Thanks.
    It's a Helix 8 G3.
    What is a dongle cable?
With them being networkable, do the cables plug from the Helix 8 straight to the Helix 15?

It is an Ethernet Adapter---AS EC QDE. All Helix units need one to connect an Ethernet cable to them.
An Ethernet cable has a threaded metal lock nut that connects to a SOLIX, ONIX, and XX8 models.
Need the adapter to work with the quick disconnect cable connections that Helix units have.
