Going to head over to Kerr for a couple days next week. How's the fishing there? Any pointers? Going to be launching out of Rudd's Creek.

Wish i could help but havent been up there lately. Gaston has been good for me lately so i would imagine Buggs is good too.
Be on vacation week after the 4th ( at Gaston ). Think i might drive over to Buggs on day.

Just fished a tournament at Kerr last weekend and was surprised that the bass were biting as well as they were. Most everyone had nice limits. We had good luck early AM throwing Topwater baits. Mid day we caught fish on shakey heads and rattle traps. Good luck
I was throwing a buzzfrog but my partner was tossing the PopR.
Yes it does require a NC fishing license. As far as navigating the southern shore you can run. There are a couple little tricky places but not bad. As far as the northern side I have not fished that side. I have only fished it 2 times. It is very small so you can almost idle the length of the lake is about 20 minutes.
