Repowering 200 EFI with Pro XS 4 stroke

I've purchased a CPO 200 Pro XS 4 Stroke and plan to replace a 96 EFI 200. The Pro XS is already setup for mechanical throttle and shifter. I plan to remove the old outboard and hang the new with the help of my techs (Toyota Dealer). I believe I will need a 8 to 14 pin adaptor, rigging hose and some sort of smartcraft monitor. Is there anything else I'm going to need hook the Pro XS up? Thanks

I don't know about any of that. But I do know you are getting a beast of a motor. I have the exact motor and it is a different animal than what you have now.. enjoy it

Do you have the serial number for the CPO engine you are getting?

It is normally required that a dealer either rig the boat, or inspect/check the rigging to make certain it is done properly (and perform a Pre-Delivery Inspection).

While I appreciate your concern, I'm really only looking for answers to what parts I will need to install a Pro XS Four Stroke to an older boat that currently is using a EFI outboard. Thanks

If you use a hotfoot you will have to modify or replace it with the new style

I see you’re new. A word of advice, when he asks a question or makes a suggestion I’d answer. He knows EVERYTHING!

In nearly every case you will need:

-14 pin adapter harness (or new 14 pin keyswitch harness)

    -Rigging Hose Kit (for 4-stroke)

    -Engine Mounting Hardware Kit

    -Propeller and SSR Hub Kit

-3/8" USCG/EPA A1-15 fuel line from tank to engine (with no primer bulbs or filters).

-AGM Battery with a bare minimum of 975 CCA Capacity

*** Strongly suggest a Smartcraft Instrument and rigging required for it, otherwise the engine's PCM is limited to sending smoke signals and beeping it's horn at you.

    ALSO RECOMMEND:

-Steering Cylinder Inspection (replace if worn even slightly)

-Steering hose and helm inspection (replace if worn even slightly)

    -Transom inspection

-Jackplate Inspection (replace if worn, skewed or otherwise compromised)

    -Hotfoot & Throttle Cable Replacement.

Note: It is mandatory that the throttle cable be setup and confirmed on the G3 Diagnostic System. There is no accurate method to utilize outside of this.

Please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to follow them when posting. Thanks!

Bhumberston - seriously listen to Don's advice. He does know about all there is to know about rigging, maintaining and fixing Merc Motors. These are not plug and play motors. My dealer had to readjust my hot foot as I was only getting 93% at WOT.

You will need a clean power harness also. I replaced my ignition switch and went to a SeaStar Hotfoot.
