Question Bass Boat On Cantilever Lift - Sit On Keel?

Hey gang, I have a Champ '07 200 Elite. We have a Hewitt Cantilever Boat Lift at our new home. The boat's primary weight would sit on the front/back Keel. This lift has a "Wooden Keel Board on frame (See pic). The bunks are just used as stabilizers.

I am uncomfortable sitting the boat on keel. Hewitt tells me this is the best way to store a boat with outboard on a lift.

Those with experience, could you share insights. Is it OK to rest boat on Keel???????

.....Hewitt has a kit w/ aluminum tubes & wood bunks atop them. They would set up like trailer bunks, all weight sitting on them. However, this is supposedly used for direct drive systems.

Btw, I also posted this in the general forum

Not an expert, but look at any boat trailer with a boat on it and you’ll see the bunks carry all the weight. The keel rollers are not touching the keel when the boat is fully loaded. Silly phone keypad!
