    23p prop??

So on the water the other day full live well with my dad. We are both about 215 to 220. Hard to get on plane. While trying get on plane I came across another guy fishing so I throttled down since I was pushing so much water I didn't want to bombard him with pre plane wake. He looked over and asked me if I had a problem getting on plane. I told him with this weight yes. He said he had the same boat I did with the same motor and he put a 23p fury prop on it and cured all the problems with hole shot and gave him top end of 52.

Currently with just me and my little girl in the boat I can get on plane just fine and top end is 44 ish(gps). I have a 21p 3 blade Solas currently. I also added a hydrofoil but that didn't help when I'm loaded but does with just me in the boat. So I thought a higher pitch will help top end but not hole shot. I thought a 19p would help with hole shot but slow down top end. My motor is happy between 5000 and 5750 per the manual. With the 21p I push about 5600rpm. I just want my hole shot to be better when loaded. I'd like to try the 23 fury but I just don't believe it will provide the results the guy said it would but I also don't know enough to back that up either. Any help would be great.

If its Nitro check for hooked hull. If hull looks good id try a 18-19pitch tempest plus 4 blade. it will help with hole shot and to get get your rpm up a little.

Ok checked the hull with a 4 foot level. Seems to be fine. No hook near the transom. Currently I have a 21p and that is spi Ning at the top rpm range 5600. Max is 5750. I am going to try a 19p but won't that increase my rims? Is there a benefit to a 4 blade prop vs 3 blade?

4 blade will definitely improve hole shot. 19p will be close in RPM with your 21P

Also keep in mind you are basically in summer now. If you plan on fishing/boating in cooler weather expect to turn more rpms. Your current prop may be pushing 5750 in fall/winter.

A Fury runs stiff. About one pitch stiffer than same labeled Tempest Plus and two pitches than a Bravo 1.

You could probably run a 19 or 20 Trophy.

Well due to price I decided to give turning point props a try. I bought a 4 blade 19p. Worried about spending 650 for a prop that may not solve my problem. So I bought from Amazon with free returns. Anyone have any thoughts on this prop. 31431930

Whelp that cheap prop was just that....cheap. hole shot wasn't better and there was more vibration. Went ahead and purchased a trophy plus 19p from a prop shop near me. This is what they recommend. At first there wasn't an improvement so I took out 2 of the pvs plugs and now the boat gets on plane nicely. Top speed is 42mph which I'm fine with.
