2003 Merc 200 IFE, No power

    S/N OT791227
Idles and starts fine. No power under load. Won't get over 2500 rpms. Plugs and water separator are 2 years old with 50 hours on them. Boat is a 2003 TR19. What's things I can check myself?

    Basics:
    Proper spark to all cylinders
Fuel pressure and volume under load
    Compression
Gear case lube condition (water or metal)
Yesterday I replaced a lower unit for a friend with the same complaint that had been to a local dealer twice trying to get it running right. No lube at all clear clean water and metal. I'm betting it is fixed
    Thank You Leon Pugh

In addition to checking the basics (above), it would be a good idea to follow up with the recommended ANNUAL Maintenance.
