    Chattanooga

Me and the gf are gonna go for a few days in July. Gonna take the boat and fish a little on chick. Any good attractions? Best places to eat?

Downtown Chattanooga has done a good job of re inventing itself over the past few years. Start with the aquarium. It is worth the trip and from there, just walk around. Lots of great eateries within a few blocks of it. The Lookouts play beside the aquarium, if you are a baseball fan. Find a kiosk and grab a handful of brochures about local attractions and help keep a printer busy, as I am one!

There are a ton of great places to eat in Chattanooga and recommendations could be organized in several different formats. Also, happy to help with other recommendations (places to stay/not stay, park, hike, fishing guides, etc) if needed, just shoot me a PM.

    Bars:
    - Whiskey Thief - great views of north Chatt, cool space, huge whiskey selection, and great burgers. It's on top of the Edwin hotel at the end of the walking bridge, so it can be harder to find places to park, unless you valet.
    - Bar on top of the Westin Hotel - decent drinks, decent food, cool views, great bar if you are down in the west village area.
    - Unknown Caller - great drinks, food options are limited, and another cool space if you are downtown.
    - The Social - great little bar in the back of public house restaurant located in warehouse row
    - High Rail - cool bar on top of the Chattanoogan Hotel
    - There are a ton of great breweries located all over town too.

Brunch/Breakfast (theses places will get crowded quick if you don't go early):
    - Daily Ration - in north Chatt, great food, outdoor dining
    - Syrup and Eggs - cool place to eat downtown/near warehouse row, the food is amazing
    - Kenny's - more southside/near Choo Choo. The fried chicken is some of the best in town, and he makes his hot sauce from scratch.
    - Stir - in the Choo Choo, great place for brunch

    Lunch/Dinner (casual):
    - Champy's - best fried chicken, located downtown
    - Totto - best Japanese/Sushi, located in north Chatt
    - Tremont Tavern - best burgers, located in north Chatt
    - State of Confusion - great food, located in Southside right on Main Street
    - Pizza Bros - great pizza, several locations around town
    - Mexiville - great Mexican cuisine, located in downtown and in north chatt
    - River Street Deli - great place to grab sandwiches in north chatt
    - Boathouse - great seafood and spit roasted chicken, and great bar drinks. Right on the river, just outside of downtown.
    - Public House - good fried chicken, located in warehouse row
    - Two Ten Jack - cool Japanese place located in warehouse row

Lunch/Dinner (less casual & will likely need reservations):
    - Alleia - our favorite place for a nice night out, the food is amazing. Located in southside
    - St. Johns/Meeting Place - food is great here too, also located in southside
    - Hennan's - located by the aquarium, good steak.
    - Old Gilman's Grill - in the west village, great food.
    - Easy Bistro - cool bar and great food in the west village.

I'm a semi local (Dalton, GA) and you really put a lot of effort into this. Learned something. Thanks.

You’re welcome, happy to help. We love the food scene here, and we enjoy taking our friends out who come to visit. I kept the obvious stuff off the list to help give them some “local” options, places that most visitors don’t get to go to. There are so many more but thought the list was already getting out of hand lol!

One place not mentioned for breakfast that should be is Bluegrass Grill, get there early because there will be a wait but well worth it.
