Two transducers - 1 on each side of the jack plate

Any one running this kind of configuration?

I’m using two transducer shield and saver products on each side of my atlas 10 inch jack plate. One is a hummingbird and the other is a 3 in 1. When all the transducers are off except the 3 in 1 I’m getting bars at the top of the side imaging image.

im thinking it’s seeing the other transducer.

Wondering if there is a solution to this where I can keep the two transducers mounted on each side of the plate?

included a photo of what I’m seeing on the side imaging.

You are getting echoes from the inside of the jackplate. You get those whether you have another transducer or not. Put a cover or holeshot plate on the bottom of the jackplate to hide that vertical surface. Your Lowrance transducer is on the port side of the jackplate and the echoes come from the inside of the starboard side of the jackplate.

I have a hole shot plate so not sure that’s what that is.

Here’s a photo of the set up under the jack plate.

If you have them side by side, which ever one is higher is going to see the lower one. Only way to avoid that is have one in front of the other,so neither is in the others field of view.

    David,
I am running two transducers on my Slidemaster 10" jackplate with Transducer Shield and Saver mounts on both (StructureScan3D, and Airmar TM150M). I also have a hole shot plate made by Scap at Transducer Shield and Saver.

I do not get the echo lines, but I do have a 2" extension on my StructureScan transducer to get it lower than the Airmar, and also to use it at a faster idle. Here is a video showing my setup and you can see the extension. Hope this helps you out.
    ciao,
    Marc

OK, then the Humminbird transducer is the sonar reflecting source. The TS&S with L bracket has a good size profile to cause that.

I agree. I think that’s the culprit. I’m going to take Marcs and Fishin’s advice and try to lower it with an extension from TS&S. Planning to try the 1.5 first.

Same boat. I run a Lowrance 3-1 on the right side and an airmar TM 150 on the left. No issues at all. Full Holeshot cover plate. Great images.

Dean, your Airmar looks like it sits lower than my humminbird transducer...Maybe my 3 in 1 transducer is faulty?

Wonder if any one has had a faulty 3in 1 producing the bars like I’m getting?

    David,
Those bars are clearly reflections and not from a faulty transducer...the extension is most likely the best solution.

    I agree…that looks like a perfectly functional 3-1

    Update…

Added the 1.5 inch extension and I’m still getting the bars on the SI from the 3 in 1.

I’m starting to wonder if you just can’t have two SI transducers mounted on opposite sides of the jack plate.

I suppose I should have asked, but assumed you were only running one at a time?

I have a big Airmar TM150M on my Port side of my jackplate, and the 3D StructureScan on the Starboard side of the jackplate one a 2" extension, and have no problem. I don't see how your situation is different (unless you are running both at same time).

    Hey Marc,

I’m not scanning with both at the same time. Only the 3 in 1 is on. Both are physically installed but only 3 in 1 is actively running.

Well then, I have to agree with Wayne; your Humminbird transducer is hanging down low enough to reflect the signal similar to not having a hole shot plate. You may have to live with the reflection.
