    Tar river reservoir

    There are now spotted bass in Tar River reservoir,two of them have been caught recently. I made a post in the lounge about it.

    Some one must have put them there right? Unlike the Roanoke with Gaston the Tar has no "source" with spotted bass.

    I know the reservoir is still recovering from extreme low water levels a couple years ago. I hope the largemouth can rebound.

    There’s still plenty of LM in there but they are beat to death,it’s hard to catch them. I won a Sunday evening tournament last Sunday with 15# and a 6-1 kicker so they will bite if you can find them.

    Congrats there Rip on your win!! I have not fished the Tar in a few years now. I won our club tourney up at Gaston with a sack full of largemouth though we caught lots of spots. The gars were terrible up there. Caught some walleye, rock fish and fresh water drum.

    Congratulations to you too,Mike. I fish the res pretty often just because it’s close by. I sure wouldn’t drive very far for it though.
