    27-M versus Turbo TXP 27

I learned that the two aren't interchangeable in my situation.

The original 27-M was on my 2002 ZX250 with the Yama 250 VMAX. Never had any issues, until a substantial stress crack led to a broken blade prompting a replacement. Thinking I had made enough calls and done my research, I bought the Turbo TXP with the same pitch.

Initially, the boat ran excellent... but it was in February, and the surface temp was 55*. Fast forward to April and May with warmer temps, and the boat just couldn't get out of the water. She bogged down at full throttle like she was pulling a truck.

My local shop (shout-out to Charlie's in Alvarado, TX) lent me a Turbo TXP 25 pitch. I hit the lake yesterday with surface temps in the upper 80's and she ran just great. I immediately hit the beach, put on my 27, and again she was a dead dog.

So, here I am left with a pristine TXP 27, looking for suggestions.

    Thanks.

The TXP is about a 1 pitch stiffer prop than the 27M, from what I can tell.

Thanks for that. I'm still learning. I was very surprised how much water temp affects a prop's performance.
