Drew, a question for you if you don't mind.

Ionic cranking battery. 100AH or 125AH whichever it is. Depleted to say 50% state of charge. Connected to an outboard motor of course.

When the outboard motor is started do you have any information as to how much current it will be drawing?

when it’s cranking for that split second you will see a jump in current draw. But I can’t remember the number. Once the motor is running the amps turn positive and begins to charge the battery. Running over 4,000 Rpms I’m seeing 30amps being charged back onto the battery with the load of electronics running as well.

are you referring to amp draw from the starter while starting? if so I do not, I have drained my 125ah to 20% and opened the app and started my SHO and it still starts to fast for the app to have time to read the amp draw

My question was poorly worded. My apologies.

Was wanting to know the current flow from the motor to the battery.

Did you delete your post about the battery drawing 30 amps or so?

From what I have seen most anything the alternator can produce. I have seen mine "accept" 50+ amps from my Merc charging system.

    I have a 2018 Verado 200 L4.

I first tried a different mfr battery that did NOT have a BMS that was compatible. This caused electrical loads (graph) to shut down. Also seems to have maybe popped my Merc analog gauge interface or some of my gauges and my Dual Pro battery fuel gauge on the 12v side. Engine never shut down or any other horror story

I now have Ionic and have had no issues. I'm working on a Stealth 1 DC-LI charger setup with decent success, but for some reason with starting battery full it seems that when I throttle up it significantly reduces charge to the trolling batteries rather than increasing. Just at casual observation stage on this one, it seems to fall then rise but I did not run long it was at the end of my outing and too much traffic to watch app while running on plane. Not sure if the Merc charging system is doing this or if it's the Stealth 1 charger. The Starting/house battery topped up from 91% to 100% very quickly.

I can only speak for my experience, but by Mercury 150 FS will throw 45-46 amps in to the 125AH Ionic at medium to high RPM. I don't have a ton of electronics, just 2 x 10 inch Solix units on max brightness and live well running is about 5-6 amps of draw.
