2020 Mercury 175 Pro XS “PCM” swap with a Mercury 200 Pro XS

Hey everyone, I am currently running a 2020 Mercury 175 hp Pro XS four stroke on my boat. I have a few questions for owners with the same motor.

1-Has anyone or know of anyone that swapped out the 175 hp “PCM” & installed a “PCM” from a Mercury 200 hp Pro XS four stroke????

2-For anyone that ones a 175 ho Pro XS four stroke, what name brand & size pitch Prop do y’all have on your motor? What is the max rpms and WOT Speed? Thanks

Prop pitch will depend on what boat its on. A Nitro z18 with a 175pro xs 4 stroke comes factory with a Tempest 22p and most are seeing 63mph at 5800rpm. The 175pro xs is a V6 and the 200pro xs is a V8. Am sure the ecm wont swap! Now for the V6 line of 4 strokes such as the 175 200 225 let us know?

Please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and provide the Required Information (serial number) with your post. Thanks!

Since you decided to also send this by email, please see the responses provided there. Always happy to help- but it does help us considerably if you only post the question in ONE medium (so it does not have to be answered multiple times).

Here's the body of the response I sent you by email:

    2. Need YOUR BOAT information, as well as all pertinent performance information. Props are specific to EACH BOAT, based on how THAT boat is set up, loaded, and running. Another boat the same year same engine may or may not use the same prop.

We will normally support information for MERCURY Propellers. Unfamiliar with the Powertech props- what few of my customers did run them have converted to better performing Mercury propellers.

And most importantly: RPM's from a Smartcraft Instrument, with GPS speed.

    Items to provide:

    -Smartcraft RPM's at WOT
    -Trim angle
    -GPS Speed
    -Water Pressure
    -Setback or Jackplate info
    -Engine height during this run
    -Mercury Propeller you're running
-Boat loading (persons, gear, fuel, livewells)
-Climatic and Water conditions at the time.

    Hope this helps!
