    Texas Revisted

I spent the night at Lake Fork Marina and Motel last night.
Good dinner and breakfast with some comedy from the waitresses.
Toured Athens and Lake Athens Area today with lunch at the boat house .
Ceviche and Fish Tacos were both fantastic.
Then drove to the Pinnacle Golf Club on Cedar Creek Lake and looked around.
Finished by driving to Tyler and caught an Italian Dinner at Bernard’s That was fantastic.
Touring Cascades Country Club tomorrow and then driving down to Lufkin to stay at Crown Colony Country Club Villas.
We will drive to view some areas around Sam Rayburn.

What I learned on this trip with my wife:

    1. I am reminded what I love about Texas-the Friendliest people I have ever met.
    2. Why did I leave Texas-Only Family in Kansas could make us leave.
    3. Why are there so many lakes in Texas no one talks about?
    4. Dang-Tyler has flat growed up. Not sure bigger is better but there are a butt load of stores here.
    5. Hiways in Texas flat put Oklahoma roads to shame. Haven’t hit a pothole yet since I crossed the border!

We will continue with our trips to explore more of East and West Texas.
I have even put Lake Bridgeport on the list since someone mentioned smallmouth live ther!
And Ft. Worth has some of the most genuine Texas folks I know.

We are fired up to move back to Texas as soon as circumstances allow.
    God Bless Texas!

Sounds like a heck of a trip! I have always loved to Tyler, Athens area. I wish my land was closer to that area. It seems like your looking for golfin spots but for me that area has some of the great offroad motocycle areas in the state. Bridgeport, Texhoma and Ray Roberts have smallmouth in them.
