    Naked Chatterbait Trailer

Experimenting with a bladed jig without the skirt. Any thoughts on best trailer? I don’t like a boot tail. I believe the blade kills the action of the swimbait. Appreciate any thoughts.

I've been trying this as well and have used a Lake Fork LIVE Magic Shad and a Menace Grub. Haven't had any bass run into one yet but maybe that's because the northern pike have been getting there first.

Pretty much the same thing you'd use as a trailer with a skirt. Zako, razor shad, fluke etc.
I'll use a 7" jerky j on 3/4 and 1.25 ounce heads for fishing ledges also

Jerky J or big fluke. I would stay away from boot tail type baits which rob action from the blade.

I totally agree. I think the LFT Magic Shad is the perfect trailer. I have experimented with other trailers; ribbon tail worm, trick worm, V&M Wild Thang craw, double tail grub. Some work some not so much.
    Don't worry Ma'am....

I throw a lot of boot tails, especially when I’m fishing open water. I’ll turn it “upside down” to keep the bait running a little deeper. A normal fluke is a trailer I use a lot, but the best I’ve found when not using a skirt is a diesel minnow. It’s super hard to get that elaztech all the way on there but they last a long time and have great action.

Take a look at the Big Bite Bait swimon. You can swim it vertical or horizontal. Just saying.

I agree with Casslaw. I tend to prefer a non swimbait tail normally, exceot if I'm fishing it without a skirt. Reason being is that removing the skirt makes the bait more erratic/hunts. So you can use a boottail and still get the hunt.

I don't like a paddle or curly tail on a chatterbait, it seems like it kills the vibrating action. I like a straight tail fluke.
