    2008 YAMAHA 150 HPDI FUEL PROBLEM

    I was wondering if anyone would know how to check fuel pressure I filled up with pure gas on my last fishing trip would not hardly run start it up let it idle with out the cover on rev the engine it runs fine just as soon as u put it in gear and hit the throttle it will dye I noticed with the cover off in neutral and I rev it up the plastic water separator filter will not stay full or gas any help will be appreciated

    I'm not sure if the globe not staying full of fuel is normal or not, but if I had suspicion of fuel starvation before the clear globe filter I would go through the steps below.

    First check would be clogged fuel tank vents, kinked fuel lines, and leaky line connections

    Then check for quality of fuel by running off of separate fuel tank

    Then onboard fuel filter/water separator

    Then pump ball for good measure

    Then fuel tank selector valve if applicable

    Finally check for degraded hoses

    While I was at it, I would change all fuel filters and check out my diaphragm pumps. Onboard separator, clear globe, VST, and cannister filters (assuming your '08 150 has the same filters as my '05 225).
