2010 ranger Z520 250 sho Jack plate question

Have a 2010 Z520 with 250 SHO on it. currently have an 8" standard jack plate on it. Switching to a Hydraulic. Has anyone gone to a 10" one over an 8". Better performance with the 10 inch?

I have not tried that hull with a 10-inch jack plate, but did own two Z520s with 8-inch plates. Typically, going from an 8-inch plate [as Ranger’s engineers determined to be best, given the hull’s built-in setback] to a 10-inch plate produces no performance improvement. I try never to say never—in terms of *someone* finding 1 more mph with a given combination—but it is also possible to negatively affect performance by altering a boat’s balance point with excessive setback.

I have 10 522 mines 12" came from ranger assuming because of the length, i jump on pad side by side with521s , i see the 21s in that year alot with 10" setbacks so if thats the case id say 8 is your number. I love the way this year/model is setup
