The green line is Coarse--aka direction of travel. It turns off when at less than .6 mph and isn't steady until over about 4 mph.
    GPS does that calculation.

A Heading Sensor is used to show compass direction and it is not affected by speed/movement. Installed properly it indicates the direction the bow is pointed. The Heading Sensor is a compass and controls the position icon (boat symbol) and you can turn on Heading Line.

The AS GPS HS accessory is a combo GPS antenna and Heading Sensor and will fix what you are experiencing.

If you have iPilot LINK, that is also GPS and Heading that will do the same as the AS GPS HS.

The Ultrex comes with a Heading Sensor, but you have to get the iPilot LINK version to use it with the unit. It is an Ethernet connection.
iPilot is GPS and will be a choice in the Network menu IF you get LINK.

That would match your Helix 8 DI unit.

With a linked Ultrex, you'll also be able to cursor over to the waypoint on your graph and tell the Ultrex to take you to the waypoint and spotlock, or circle it a specified distance, etc. It's pretty awesome.

Another way to navigate boat positioning on a waypoint is to use a 360 as you sneak up to where the waypoint is.
