Gajo, Xzone, Maxscent, Dream Shot all in GP to Goby color. Swim baits works well too, I like the 4" keitech. 3/8oz in no wind, 1/2 oz if you get some wind and 3/4 if its rolling.

I don't think you gotta be picky. Find something you like and have confidence in and let 'er rip tater chip. Recently saw someone drop shotting a tube on St. Clair, think it was on Hook-n-Look.

anything that looks like a goby.

be patient at it, the pros make it look far easier than it is but once you find fish it sure is fun. many people come home empty on the St Lawrence.

this is very true not sure about empty but your not going to have 25 to 30 pound bags till you spend alot of time on it.

I have tried it, but I am way too impatient to stay with it, though it does bring back great memories from when teaching the kids how to fish with a top and bottom rig with worms from compost from garden.

Don't forget the zoom products. Meathead and the drop worm they got. good colors. Couple of 20 bags and your set for a few weeks. Don't over think it!! Hooks, weights, spinning gear, snacks, drinks... Have fun. I don't see me up there at all till Sept oct.

i agree.. guys from downstate or out of state constantly go up there expecting 100 fish days and the average smallie around 5lbs because that’s what they see on the pro tours. it can humble you more times than not.

truth is most guys don’t even get limits on the river. Check the BFL results over the past few years and about half of the field don’t even get a limit, and the average weight is around 12-15lbs.

z-man trick shots are just about the perfect size. Xzone makes a nice bait too but some are rather dainty sized(the ones I have anyways which are the shiver shads)
