Rod sock would be recommended so they dont get tangled up.

The area in front of the drivers side console should be a cooler like the 1980. Its a wasted space in the 1880.

You can jam a bunch of em in there with rod socks on each.

I wouldn't say it's wasted space. It's the same size as the port side box. But I would give up part of that locker for a cooler in the same place as the 1980

Thinking about taking a 1/2 or preferably a 3/4” acrylic panel and siliconing it in place. What divider material did you use for yours?
