    96 Model 20' BulletTransom

Will the 96 model bullets hold the heavier motors ok? Picking up a 20 and thinking of swapping the 225pm for a 250 pro xs.

One of the old school Bullet guys will be along shortly to answer for sure. I thought 1997 was the year they added bracing for the 3 liter, not positive though. Give Tom a call tomorrow.

A few years ago I thought Tom told me 98 on the brace, must have been something else. I am sure of the composite. Thanks Paul for the clarification. I was “iffy” on the 98.

I was told mid-96 starting having the 3rd brace. Look inside, it will be easy to tell.

I have a 2003 20xdc, I put a new 250R v8 on it last year. So far so good. When I bought the boat new in 2003 I was running a 2.5 280, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be bolting a v8 to that ol' boat. ALSO, not to mention, I have (2) 10' power poles hanging off the back. So I'm sure I'm exceeding the limits of what the transom was designed for.

After the 280 I went with a 250 Sport XS, ran it for 8 years, no transom issues.
