Anybody know how to get a pawl for a 2020 Metanium?

I've got a pawl on a 20 Met that's getting a bit sticky and I'd like to get a new one.

Looking at Shimano's parts site, it says the pawl is part BNT5892. However, you can't add this part to a cart because it says it's discontinued.

I noticed it's also listed as discontinued on the Bantam MGL as well.

So does anyone know how to get a new pawl for this reel?

    Thanks in advance.

There was a running change. Call Shimano and they will send you one. However, I doubt yours is bad. Dan

In many cases it’s not even needed. The Anti reverse bearing assumes all the load. The pawl is nothing more than a backup.

I think you're right. I took the line guide system out and the pawl is metal and looks fine. When I unscrewed the pawl cap, I noticed that it was very easy to back off. So I put everything back together and tightened the pawl cap and it seems to be working fine now.

My guess is that the cap came a little loose during use.
