I would love to find an old black box that hasn't been updated, please let us know your results.
RR your right!!!!!! Helping others is what this forum is all about.
Coach,
Rolling back the software seems to help some people and others it doesn't. I tried it and it didn't help me.
Overall picture was cleaner, less starburst as well. Dead zone was the same.
Got new boat Friday. Took it out Sat/Sunday. All three livescope components are brand new. Saw zero ghost tree(usually have a tiny bit) and cannot find a blind spot.
I pulled up to a huge straight tree and go as far out from it as the depth. I lost the bottom of the tree. I turned the TM ever so slightly(Thanks Motorguide) and the bottom of the tree would appear. I think the loss of a vertical object may be due to the mount angle.
PMANTLE, thanks for the post. Been seeing more and more reports of new units and LS systems with zero issues. Makes me wonder what changed?
I don’t understand much about technology but my common sense tells me the boxes and monitors don’t have all the old undates installed and are coming out of the factory with a clean system, if that makes any sense to us “challenged” individuals ?
We’ll just think of your computer a few years old it’s slow and full of bugs.Microsoft is always updating and slowing it down.A new computer is fast and works for a few years
The updates don’t slow it down and these units don’t run windows
Here’s another tip
Yup. Most people that post their settings have gain way higher than I use. I am almost never into the high 60s and often in the 50s.
YOU are not entitled to what I have earned!!!!!

That's about the only use I would like the transducer off the TM. Otherwise I so much prefer it on the TM shaft.
Spot locking is the ultimate setup with the livescanner or separate pole as there’s no way spot lock works with scope
