    Preconfigure Elite TI2

I know this is probably a simple DUH question so excuse my ignorance here.

I just installed new Elite TI2's into my boat and I am wondering how you guys go about setting these up in garage before hitting the lake. I have watched a ton of videos on what to do in order to get them setup properly.

If I put them into retail mode and I make changes to the settings will they preserve my settings when I take it out of retail mode?

    Thanks

Use factory settings and fine tune from there on the water.

Well I am trying to only fine tune while on the water fishing and not spend all day with my nose into the menus trying to get it all setup from the factory. If I make changes to the settings running in retail mode will it retain the settings when I take it out of retail mode? Anyone know?

Don't know what retail mode is. You mean the simulator they run at stores? Yes, you need to get out of that. Changes made there are not saved. If the units are brand new, just do a hard reset and follow the instructions on startup. There will be some questions asked and the option to register the unit. It may take awhile to find it's position and will never do it while inside. I just assumed all that was done, for all around use the factory settings are fine for most users.

you can go ahead and setup the wireless link between your units so that that is out of the way, register and then do as NoCal said and just setup what you need to fish while on the lake. It doesn't take long if you watched some videos on overlays and that type of thing.
