    Added steps.

If you load and unload by yourself. you'll know why I added these. Plus it's easier on us old folks just getting to that first one.
Welded a piece of channel iron to bottom of tongue for the mount. Took a set of the regular steps I got from Bill and shortened them.
MUCH easier than balancing on the tongue when hooking bow strap.

HAs anyone added the full step kit to their older Boatmate trailer? Im guessing welding and painting are involved?

Mine was added by Allison at there place, was added after leaving boat mate.
Appears to bolt on using the same holes as the winch. Which would need to be removed.

Looking at the OP's picture it looked like the step mounted near the handrail mount has a weld across the frame. Can anyone confirm the step kit is fully bolt on?

    Thanks

I find no place that the original step up with handrail is welded. It appears to simply mount underneath the winch using the same bolts.
Call Bill..... 99% sure they will sell the step to be added on at home.
    You'll love it !!

I added the steps and handle to my Boatmate trailer after market. They are definitely a nice addition. I had some play in the chrome handle where it fits over the steel pin in the step base with only the one stainless steel nut and bolt supplied. The handle actually wore through the stainless bolt on a long trip and sheered it off. I drilled a second hole and added a second stainless nut and bolt and haven't had that problem since. I also had the weld break at the base of the top step and had to have it welded back.

I figure they must have realized the single bolt was inadequate... Mine has two.

So much easier in and out while its on the trailer. I wont dread night prepping anymore or having to climb in and out to add or grab one little thing in the boat.

Thankyou Fireman. Just running it at 24volts now. It pulls it around 3.8 mph. No real need for 36V for me unless I was in some very serious current and it still pulls me up stream in the AR river without issues at all. Its an amazing troller, but it likes to download updates quite a bit which gives some folks fits. I have had no problem and wouldnt give it up for anything and that includes my previous Minn Kotas. The Garmin still isnt quite as good as my HB Mega when it comes to side scan, but I just have the 54 series ducer and not the latest 56 which is better. I have seen the 56 and its pretty close, but I still like my old Mega Bird better when it comes to side scan. However, I always use the live scope as I primarily Crappie fish.

I have a pretty good guide that likes to show off

    Thanks!

Ha! You got plenty of big ones over your way. I want to hit LOP badly!

My guide works pretty cheap, but sometimes scooters and the IPAD cut in to his guiding. He is definitely my lucky charm and I sure am proud of him.
