    Operating temperature

At what temperature should a 115 fourstroke sn 2b216247 operate in 75 degree water and 80 degree air temperature while running at 5500 rpm?

I'm not sure about the 115 but my 200 Pro xs runs between 136 and 140

On plane temperature will vary, if the warning horn isn't sounding and Guardian isn't activating your temperatures are fine.

I am afraid it's not running hot enough.

In theory it shouldn't matter the air or water temp. The thermostat manages the engine temp , not the air or water temp.

Yes, in theory (though in theory it shouldn't matter how heavy you load the boat either... but it does).

Engine temps can vary WIDELY based on air, water temps- loading, trim angle and engine RPM.

So in short- really not possible to answer the original question. Let's get the temperature you ARE running (FROM SMARTCRAFT) under those conditions....?

Begs the question, do the 4-stroke engines have poppet valves, if yes, are stats out of circuit once it opens (like the 2-strokes)?

Some do, some don't. That's an engine-specific topic.

^^^ Perfectly fine. May run cooler than that at WOT in cooler weather/water temps.
