    Switch tanks or go dual

All. I have a quick question for you guys. So we have an older 202 with dual tanks. The cockpit switch was bypassed and now it has basic plumbing valves that are in the back compartment that I have to switch. My mechanic is recommending I just run both open. What do you guys think. The reasons it matters is when a tank runs dry it puts a big splash over the stern of the boat which really is not ideal.

Having the dual tanks and drawing from one has some advantages such as being able to keep the boat balanced when the load changes. That said, I enjoyed being able to pull from both tanks with my 625.
