USA Fishing For Freedom - Truman 2021

    All,
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on where things are at with the FFF event. I have been asked to spread the word.

The weekend is full speed ahead and is slated for October 8-10. We do have a block of cabins available at Reel and Trigger if lodging is a financial sticking point for you (no charge!)

They have maxed out on the number of warriors that can take, which is right around 120 this year.
They currently have only 43 boats registered. I wanted to post a link for you to register to volunteer your weekend to take these awesome men and women fishing. It is a very rewarding experience and you'll make lifelong friends.

Please help out by registering at the following link

We are up to 72 boaters now. They have 120 warriors signed up.
Please sign up if you haven't already!

    Thanks,
    Tom

I'll crash at Reel and Trigger with your group Tom, but I'll throw in my share for the rent-someone reserved Cabin 1 before I did. . I messaged you earlier about this.

Tom, I have never fished a tournament like this, but am interested in the details. What are the boater’s costs and responsibilities?

No entry fee. You get your own housing/motel and they feed everyone Saturday evening where they pair you with your warrior. Many of us take one out with us for pre-fishing on Saturday as well. Angers Port usually has a mini- get together Friday night with a small meal and a fishing seminar. You will need a certain amount of insurance on your boat- details on website. http://www.fishingforfreedom.us/

About 84 have signed up - our goal is 125. We won't really know for sure until closer to the event.

    All,
We are getting closer to the event. I still have a few beds available if anyone needs a place to stay.

Wow this is really neat. I don't know Truman at all but if anything like this for veterans or police, first responders ever goes to Table Rock or Lake of the Ozarks I'd seriously consider being a volunteer boater.

You don't really need to know Truman. There will be plenty of info shared.
Some of these warriors just want to catch a fish. It could be crappie, bluegill or catfish. Doesnt matter!

Good to know, I'm in a wedding that weekend otherwise I would love to do this. Do you go to Truman every year?

Just an FYI- the Kayak series I fish with sometimes had a tournament on Truman last Sat. The winner had 85.5 inches for 5 fish- over a 17 inch average.
