    Motor Stiks vs Transom Saver

I have an old 1996 Ranger 461 with a 175 Merc EFI and I do not have a jack plate. The boat came with a transom saver support bar that holds the lower unit and connects the a roller on the rear of the trailer. My question is: will the newer style Outboard motor stiks support rods that slide over the trim rods give proper support for my outboard without damaging my transom given that I do not have a jack plate?

I have the motor mate, its awesome. Your transom is subjected to greater force on the water at WOT bouncing off waves than it is touching the trailer roller bouncing off of potholes. Worth the $$.
