1993 Johnson Fast Strike sluggish throttle response

    1993 Johnson Fast Strike Silver Star Model# J175GLETR Serial# G03155099

I have a new to me 1993 361V Ranger Comanche with the motor above. When you push the throttle down from an idle to get on plane there is a short 10-20 second hesitation where it seems starved for gas. We have changed the fuel filter, o-ring seal, primer bulb and checked plugs. I am the 3rd owner, the previous owner deleted the VRO pump and there is a plug disconnected on the fuel pump. See pics.

Where should we start will trying to eliminate the throttle hesitation?

Throttle linkage adjustment may be out of whack. Here's a couple pix on what to look for. Third pick shows how to adjust if needed. Loosen Phillips head screw in yellow and push the throttle arm with the cam roller (blue) on it towards the spark cam in green. Adjust it so it comes in contact with the spark cam.

Thanks for the direction, I found that linkage adjustment procedure in our manual. I will have to study the steps, before I attempt the tweak. I'm new to bass boats, but from what I read, it shouldn't be taking this boat 45/60 seconds to get on plane...
