    DEPTH HIGHLIGHT MISSING

    Hey Guy's
    I can't find depth highlights on my Helix g4 8" .
I'm in simulator mode from my home. I'm hoping that is the reason. Yes I have parameter installed

Depth Highlight is the 3rd, 4th, and 5th menu item in that picture. It only works with HD mapping.
The first item is to turn it on or off.
The next two is where you set the shallowest and deepest of the depth you want highlighted like from 20' to 30'.

Your unit doesn't have built-in mapping to practice with that setting. You need Lakemaster, Auto Chart, or Auto Chart Live data to use it.

Of course I'm away from the unit at the moment. So the highlight indicated as 1 with the check should be opened and turned on?

Not all the waters on the card are HD. There are three levels of map quality.
Standard Definition can be any level of detail like 20' contours, 10' contours, 8' contours, etc
High Definition Survey is mostly HD from "other sources".
Lakemaster High Definition Survey is data collected by Lakemaster's own survey teams.

Are you using 2.440 software? If so, that might be causing your problem. The Shallow Water and Depth HighLight boxes have to be checked in order to use them.

    Wes,
Good question. I will check tomorrow. I do know that when I purchased last month the dealer checked turned unit on and confirmed the most current version.

What is confusing to me is in photo I attached earlier is:
    Highlight 1min
    Highlight 1max

    All YouTube videos show depth
    Highlight
    Depth highlight range

As Wayne said, those 2 settings are for the Depth Highlight Range: Min for the shallowest depth and Max for the deepest range. Videos are probably a little behind the current versions - menu selections change as more functionality is added or when HB thinks we will understand the labels easier.

A software update changed the way it is adjusted.
The old way was to select a depth, and then how wide on each side of that depth. 20’ depth with 5’ highlight would have 15’-25’ highlighted.
