    Garmin 12” chartplotter

Looking at adding a 12” Garmin for livescope. Due to budget, looking at Ecomap Ultra 126 or GPS 1242. Which is better for livescope? Any advice?
    Thanks

I have the Echomap 126SV and am very happy with it. Get excellent Livescope images.

If budget is the main thing then the 1242 (no transducer) will be the one to go with.....do you plan on using the unit for sonar, imaging, etc.????

Thanks for the response. Leaning toward ecomap 126. Is there anything that should make me chose GPS model over ecomap?Have a ecomap 93 ultra for sonar and mapping at bow. Will likely convert to Garmin at console next year.

GPS and echomap will not talk to each other if you want to link and share waypoints

If you already have a 93UHD or Plus then go with the 12 inch Ultra for the ability to network between the units.

The only thing that I can think of is that the GPSMAP models will allow you to record videos directly to Active Captain on your wireless device.

    I’m also in the market.

quick question, if you have the transducer can you split screen Livescope with regular 2D sonar and if not does that mean you have to flip between them if need be?

Does it make sense for someone to run just one graph at the bow for Livescope? I have yet to see that, most guys have at least another unit up there for more information.

Don’t know if anyone would but curious to know if you can do that.

I’m upgrading to a 12” screen so I can see fish and structure better. May have more to do with my older eyes.

I run a Helix 12" for 2d sonar and the 126sv for Livescope. It allows me to see what I need to see and am very pleased with this setup.

Yes, you can have a split screen with LS and sonar, or clear vu, etc......

Ok that’s what I was hoping for.
I noticed there are more bundles that include the 12” garmin unit with Livescope but don’t have a transducer.

    Which transducer would you recommend?
(I wouldn’t be worried about side scan considering this set up is at the bow)

    thanks for your help!

I know you said no sidescan but, i'll give you all the choices.

The best, latest/greatest is the GT56, next would be the GT54; both have side/down/sonar. If you would only want the down/sonar, then look at the GT24 UHD.

Transducer selection guide if you want to see what all they offer.
